Offtop : I have a little suggestion. Would you be so nice to check our essays in a Voozatka exam way? It would be easier to find what we should focus on ;)

Essay:

When in 20th century television was invented and came to our households it became clear that TV sets will dominate the entertainment of mankind. But is TV really doing a irrepairable harm?
First of all, television is one of the main sources of information. Alas, mostly every piece of information can be easily manipulated by personal outlook of channel owners or by commercials.
Young people and kids are exposed on that kind of manipulation and it can be dangerous or even harmful for them.
Secondly, people find television as one of the integral parts of their lives. Since the middle of 20th century television has become one of the most favourite way of spending free time. Television made people lack of having fun outside. But what is the most sad, mankind cut down reading books and enjoying high culture.
However, television has brought some indisputable benefits to our life. Information has become available for almost everyone. The speed of its exchange also increased.
Television is now one of the the most current source of news.
At last but not at least television is a medium which shares also a big amount of pop culture which is very popular nowadays. The massive development of soap operas and talk shows extended our view on people's lives and problems.
To conlude I think that harms made of television are not irrepairable. Most of them can be prevented by ourselves if we can see a differences between advantages and disadvantages of this.
As every great invention it just should be learned how to use it properly.

Television is doing irreparable harm

Nowadays, more and more people started spending their free time indoors, watching TV or sitting next to their computers. This is not a good situation both for our health and our relationships.
It happened, because TV series became more popular and bigger amount of them is being produced. Those series says about character's life and their fake problems. Some elderly people do not understand that it is just a TV series and they worry about the characters. It has bad influence on their health.
But according to TRWAM Television, TV series are nothing bad. This television messes up in peoples heads. Viewers usually think that the only existing truth is the one they hear on this channel. There is no option to discuss with these people, because they are the only one who are right. They think they are being rubbed by the government and that our country has been sold. Can their behavior be healthy? I do not think so.
The title sentence refers also to young people who are listening to Viva or MTV music channels not knowing niches bands or vocalists. Some of them are changing channels instead of do some housework or take a dog for a walk. They are more interested in what is the new Paris Hilton's friend than what new dessert they are able to cook or what illegal organizations are doing in France at nights.
In my opinion, television is no good unless we watch something valuable, which might expand our horizons.

Nowadays it is very difficult to imagine life without a TV set. Not only is it the most important source of information but some kind of entertainment as well. Nevertheless, television is doing irreparable harm.

People are ‘overflooded’ by vast amount of unnecessary information especially advertisements.
Majority of people are TV addicts couch potatoes finding it almost impossible to spend a day without being glued to the screen. Many people prefer spending their free time at home in front of TV to meeting their friends, reading books and enjoying high culture. This addiction makes people lazy and overweight.
The research proves that a typical person spends approximately four hours a day in front of TV watching some vain, not valuable programs. There are a lot of brutal films and even cartoons. Children, unaware of the content of films, watch them and consequently are susceptible to an irreparable harm on their psyche. On almost every channel there are shown some crime programs and films. Bearing in mind the above, I only try to watch the news to get to know what is going on in the world.

Summing up, TV is a great invention, but it is extremely important to realize its disadvantages. TV addiction can lead to serious consequences. Like everything on the earth, also TV, has its own pros and cons.

4 Parents are too permissive with their children nowadays.

Currently the way people are bringing up their children considerably changed. They are less strict, less demanding, more permissive and more understanding. Is it exaggeration? Is actual way of parenting better than former?

Firstly, kids become spoilt. They make parents do what they want “mom, buy me…” “Give me money for…” It is actually one or the worst traits of contemporary youngsters. They think that everything just deserves them. When they grow up, they find it awfully difficult to life on theirs own. They don’t want to work but still want to get anything they like.

Secondly, when parents don’t require from their children some basic principles, they become rude and cannot get on with the society. When teenagers don’t have to do some housework or behave properly, they don’t do this. They don’t care about anything.

On the other hand, if they are allowed to do different things, they learn more about life and others. They can get to know how people behave in varied circumstances. Theirs desire to see how it is in a disco, concert or more extreme places is contented.

Kids can confide to parents, tell them things they wouldn’t tell if they were born few years ago. It is sometimes better to know that parents will always stand by them and help.

In conclusion, the best dissolution is to find a balance. I think that parents should be a little more demanding and still more indulgent.

(I send my composition yesterday and I've realized today that it mysteriously disappeared so I'm sending the essay again)

Television is doing irreparable harm. In my humble opinion this statement is totally true in spite of the fact that telly is believed to have been a great achievement of technique.

First of all, many people uncritically believe in what they watch in TV even though there is not an ounce of truth in it. For instance, some unreliable reporter might tell that an accident was caused by drunk driver or that the Prime Minister had an affair with his assistant and people would believe in it and it doesn’t matter that things would prove untrue. Later, the driver would be called a drunkard and the Prime Minister would be called Casanova. They would become innocent victims of journalistic unreliable.
Secondly, television doesn’t stimulate balanced development of kids. Children who watch TV many hours a day have worse imagination than their peers who read a lot of books or play outdoor with friends. I think that it can be a source of problem in later education with acquiring knowledge or with spelling.
Finally, it is hardly possible to find valuable movies or programmes in our TV. Well, you can find a lot of sitcoms, soap operas or commercials but if you would like to watch something worth to, you probably must go to cinema, buy a DVD or just download it on your hard disk.

To sum up, watching TV might be really harmful. Better open a book, quality press and read it or go out with your friends.

(The same here, mine disappeared too and Mateusz K. also had some difficulties. I thought till the morning it might reappear with a yesterday’s date of publishing but it seems like it’s not likely to show up… Definitely something was wrong... Anyway, copy’s below)

Before the wide-spreading of the Internet television used to be a source of our knowledge about the high culture, worth-watching shows and classic movies. Unfortunately, from the very beginning of 2000s every year brings us deeper into the hole of hopelessness and without any doubts - cause some harm.
Growing up in ‘90s I (barely) remember the era when you could learn from watching or just enjoy almost every channel, from MTV even to Cartoon Network. However television became – firstly – commercialized and simple. I can’t see any values of those new shows neither music. It’s not only lost a charm but mainly I don’t want be stupefied by a single thing that makes half of society look like a bunch of non self-thinking idiots.
Secondly, manipulation appeared and with that news reports lost their credibility. At least speaking of politics… But I guess it’s not good when we receive information in the way the other guy believes or want us to think. Basically we lose little by little our individuality, character, tolerance for other views etc.
All of that makes watching TV a silly entertainment but…the saddest thing is that we pay with our money and time for nothing while we could do a thousand things.
I don’t want to mention the physical harm that TV cause because health is up to our will. The basic problem is a psyche which can be easily filled with nonsense. Taking too much of this definitely cannot come up roses.

Camping is the ideal way of spending a holiday.

There are lots of ways of spending holidays but the one I want to talk about is camping. Many people think it is the ideal way of spending a holiday but it is not my cup of tea. I have never experienced being in a campsite and I suppose it is boring and it has many disadvantages.

First of all, I think that only adults and the elderly persons are the devoted followers of camping. Teenagers don’t take part in it because it seems to be very boring. They prefer having some attractions to sitting in a small tent and doing nothing interesting.
If you decide to go camping, you have to live in a small, uncomfortable tent or a caravan.
It’s important to take all the equipment with you while you are away. There’s nothing worse than arriving at rural location and finding out that you’ve forgotten to pack something vital.
The next disadvantage of camping is the weather. If you don’t check the forecast in advance, it is quite possible that the weather conditions change radically (as weather is unpredictable) and you will come back home in a bad mood.
The next major drawback of camping holidays is the lack of bathroom. Not only are you unable to use the toilet but to take warm shower as well.

In conclusion, I think camping is not the ideal way of spending holiday. The arguments I have presented speak for themselves. There are more interesting attractions than camping during holidays.

Only a madman would choose to live in a large modern city.

If I were on elderly person, I would propably agree with this statement, but I am a teenager and I disagree with. In my opinion large cities are for mostly for young people, because life there is fast and elderly people usually prefer peaceful lifestyle.

In modern city we can find any kind of club we want to, people who share our hobby, places where we can show ourselves (like vernissage for an unknown artist). Those are things that young people look in a place they live. In my opinion young people are not madmen. They just have much energy and they have to use it somehow up.

In a large modern city we can find many job offers particularly for qualified persons. That is the reason why many qualified but unemployed people move from a smaller to a large city. Salaries are higher and there are bigger opportunities for a promotion.

All in all, I think it is not a madness to live in a large modern city. You just have to be sociable, active, hungry for world, having passion and open-minded. I do not think it sounds like a description of a madman.

2 Camping is THE ideal way of spending a holiday.

Camping is one way of spending holiday. As far as I am concerned, it is the best idea of spending my days off. I have an impression that it is recently forsaken, so I am going to prove that it is absolutely advantageous holidays.

Firstly, you live at bosom of nature. You breathe fresh air, which is vital for good health and frame of mind. We usually camp by lakes so we swim a lot and play many different games e.g. volleyball, badminton. Ti is also a great opportunity to go jogging or pick up another sport.

Secondly, it is easy. Everyone can just take a tent and go somewhere. It is not too expensive and you can spend your holiday with as many friends as you like. Where would you find a hotel room for thirty people?

On the other hand, someone would say that it is hard to sleep in a tent with a small baby. It is not true. I know some couples which went camping with about a year-old offspring and they said it was comparable with normal life in a house.

On the whole, camping is the ideal way of spending holidays. It is healthy, cheap and it does not confine number of people. So… Why don’t we go somewhere now?

Though years gone by since I’ve spent my holiday on camping I could easily say taking a tent with you doesn’t mean dull times.

One of the best thing about it is costs. Once you pay for the equipment you can use it repeatedly. You don’t have to worry about accommodation, tasteless food, additional prices and even bills assuming that you’re staying at home. In the long run you save your money. And hopefully you can find yourself a place to stay where no hotel has ever existed. It’s easier to find a remarkable locations when you’re not limited by well-known tourist towns which mostly become a disappointment.

The fact is you gain benefits for spending time outdoors. For a few days you can drastically change a lifestyle for the better, running away from stress and unhealthy routine like computers or TV and replacing it with jogging, swimming, playing volleyball etc. Of course things like beer or strip poker with female friends also can be a fun although it depends to your company. Unless you’re camping alone, you cannot be bored.

But basically holiday is about relaxation. If you feel bad about mosquitoes and hard ground, take something else. Not everyone can find a charm in the evening camp-fire. However only high-priced resorts can compete with the effectiveness of camping.

I know People who often just can't imagine even a day without TV or their laptop. That couch potatoes just spend so much time next to the
37 inch screen, or just at stupid clicking on the computer keyboard. It just must not be good for humans health, and I don't mean only our sight, but our general, physical health.

I am a person who watch TV everyday. One of the reasons why i do it is that I use TV as a good
source of informations. I also sometimes watch movies in TV. I spend about 5 hours by week on it, so it is not much. There are people who sit in an armchair with cold beer putting a buttons on TV remote controllers and staring at TV screens all days.I think it is an illness when someone for example create a day plan basing on TV shows or movies. They also blindly believe in each word they have heard. Sic.

We live in society which has no chance for living with little stress level. Everything what happens during a day
is connected with the stress. Maybe television set is a way to get rit of it.

People are enslaved by electronic devices. There is a little percent of people who could live with no
mobile phone, laptop, Internet or TV.

It is thought that camping is the ideal way of spending holiday. For me that statement is definitely true. Although there are people who claim that it is boring I couldn't imagine better option to relax in my free time.

Firstly, camping is universal. Everyone can camp. For toddlers the most exciting will be living in a tent. Teenagers will find it great to live by themselves without parental support. Eventuallyt adults and elderly people are often mad about relaxing far away from the city.

The next advantage of camping is its price. You don't have to worry about prices in hotels. You just take your clothes, toiletry bag and some expedients. The only thing you have to bother is if the place where you camp has any connection to water.

What is probably the most selling point about camping is the vibe. If you spend holiday with a group of friends there is lots of entertainment and many good memories afterwards. Putting up tents, setting campfires, cooking dinners, saving your place from flood, those are things which you will always remember.

Summing up, for me as a person who is a maniac of camping it is the greatest way of spending time in summer. Your leisure cannot be upset by any weather. Every event which happens to you on camping can be unforgettable and it is really worth try even if you are against.

1 Television is doing irreparable harm.

Television is a source of news and entertainment. There is a huge variety of programs: dramas, horrors, shows, soap operas, science-fiction, comedies, and sitcoms and so on and so go. When we watch telly we cannot avoid seeing commercials. Is television making harm? I think it depends on kinds of programs people watch.

If a person watches only scientific programs, he or she can learn something interesting. It is also splendid to see a documentary or some prize-winning film. It seems to be absolutely inoffensive or even useful.

On the other hand, watching sitcoms, love comedies, some TV shows is not a good idea. I have a feeling that it may blank minds. I mean that it is not profitable to sit all day and watch many people just fooling around. Some young people tend to copy such sot wise behavior. It sometimes leads to hazardous or ridiculous situations.

Other disadvantages of telly are adverts. When you watch a film, there are usually a few brakes and during them you just look at ads. They have influence on your subconscious, they makes you buy things you don’t need. It is awful to be controlled by some pictures and sound!

To sum up, television can do irreparable harm. So, it is important to watch it cautiously. Remember to watch only this programs you want and maybe try to do something else during the break.

there's a lot of ways we can spend our holidays. We can go on a camp or travel somewhere with our parents, of course we can alsow stay at home and watch TV all day long. But in my opinion camping is the best way of spending our summer time.

Firstly we don't need to take a lof of stuff with us. All we need is tent, few clothes and food in cans. It's alsow great way to feel some freedom, we are away from our home and town so nobody tels us what to do. Thats why teenagers like to go on campings, they don't need to listen their parents and they can do whatever they want

Next thing is the price of camping, it's much cheaper than regular trip when we stay in holet. On camping we don't need to book a hotel room every time when change place. Alsow we don't need as many money for food because we can take it with us and eventually buy some cans when we run out of our food.

Of course the best thing in camping is opportunity to spend some time wint our friends. There's no rules, so we can anything we want and all of those things will leave great memories.

So camping is the best way of spending holidays. It's very cheap, economical and of course camping gives a lot of fun to everyone no metter how old are we.

Camping is the ideal way of spending holiday.

I fully agree with this statement. In my opinion, camping has no disadvantages unless someone is afraid of spiders and does bother mosquitoes and specific smell of clothes.

Firstly, while camping, we can meet ourselves much better, because there is no tv and computer so we are quite obligated to spend this time doing something together. We can sail, swim, play hide and seek, build a castle in a forest or just talk, because we usually do not have much time for ourselves in a common week.

Secondly, resting on a camping, we are throwing up our habits which may have beneficial influence on our life, because it may show us that living without for example computer, cell phone, stock market share prices or fresh grounded coffee is absolutely possible.

Thirdly, we are able to loose weight, because we do not have stimuli which make us eat more than we need. For example, we are not stressed during holiday, we do not have deadlines, we do not see our boss, we do not have duties, we do not have bills, etc..Also, we are in motion so we do not feel hunger as much as usual. Our brain is busy thinking about nothing. We are doing sports so we are producing endorphins and we feel happy.

To sum up, camping is the ideal way of spending holiday, because it may help us to find out more about ourselves and our family or friends (depends on who we went with).

Camping is THE ideal way of spending a holiday.
There is no 'the' ideal way of spending a holiday, because there are so many factors about it. In my opinion THE ideal way of spending holiday is sleeping all day long, it's so much joy.
Being on camping is usually tied to being active. Many campsites are placed around lakes, so swimming is great way to spend time. Also playing various games, like voleyball, football and many others are available. Although I can't deny it's generally beneficial, I can say that not everyone like resting actively. From my point of view - I feel like reading books, long walks and lots of coffee, they're my things. Mainly because I can do it all in my tranquil garden and my coffee is always better.
One thing that could possibly destroy your camping is the weather. Devastating rain, stormy night or heavy wind turn outside fun into card-playing festival inside the tent. I prefer not to be on mercy of elements. On the other hand, I know people who like spending time that way, so it's all about personal preferences.
To sum it up, I can't agree with this statement. There's no ideal way of spending anything, just because there's too many factors and everyone likes something different.

The younger generation knows best.
I would really love to say that, but I know that it's not true. In some cases it is true, that 'we' know better than 'them', but in most older generation have many more life experiences and they just know this world better.
One example could be, when it comes down to using some technology, I just can't stand watching my dad struggling with his laptop, my mom browsing through internet, or even my older brother trying to fix his broken PC. I just know better and I'm aware of that, but their stubborness overwhelms my patience. Same goes with news from around the world or beating the stereotypes.
But when it's about, for example, judging people, youth usually chooses wrong. Well, making bad decisions is something that we really shine at. That's where elder's experience are useful. Not to mention they were also children one day, they made the same decisions, they went through the mistakes. That's how it works I think.
We do not know best, neither they are. We all just 'know' and I think that learning from each other is the way to go, so we all can live happily ever after, avoiding as much hardships as possible.

(I just couldn't post my essay. I'm publishing it again and I hope it will appear finally)

The younger generation knows best

I’m strongly convinced that inteligence and knowledge comes with the age and I do object to the statement that the younger generation knows best.

The older we get , the more more experienced we become. It is an obvious fact that young people come to their parents, treating them as an experienced source, to get some advise when they do not know to deal with some problems.
On the other hand, the younger generation sometimes is better informed as it comes to current issues. Life has changed radicaly and today’s youngsters are surrounded with things which the older generation hasn’t been familiarized with (computers, games consoles, etc…)

Our parents are older and their knowledge about life is bigger, so if we have some problems, we can ask them about the advise. Despite the fact that our parents often tell us what to do, which makes us angry, they do it for our own sake. Personally, if I hadn’t known how to solve the problem, I would have asked my parents to know their stance. Nevertheless, there are some issues which require our own decisions. No one will shoulder the responsibility for our choice. We can only get some advise.

Neither the young nor the old generation posses the answers for all questions. As far as I’m concerned, the only way to make good decisions is to communicate, share experience and learn from the previous mistakes.

I’d say it’s impossible to say who knows best. The funniest thing is that in most cases the truth lies in the middle…
…but I have to admit there used to be a time when we’re the ones who actually learn from elders. We liked to argue instead of listening but being a kid means lack of knowledge so yes, parents used to be the only solution of our trivial problems as they are the fountain of experience. Up to these days they still can be, though since we’re going further and further we’re more likely to go on our own, make our own mistakes so even if we are wrong it doesn’t have to mean it’s bad for us. I guess taking general advices might be good to the certain point. No one can guarantee whether the next one will work as well as they did 20 years ago in certain situation. Because of the passing time roles can change easily. We may give clues both the previous generation about novelties like technology and the next one speaking of generalities.
Unsurprisingly everything’s balanced. Elders are not infallible given that neither we are. The point is just to have in mind both your experience and the others advices.

The younger generation knows best. As I know from my own experience the big generation gap between me and parents I should be convinced to decide whether it is true or not. However it is really hard to show only pros or cons.

Firstly, young people have their finger on pulse of changes in society. All those things like music, movie or even subcultures are more familiar to youths than to their parents. It surely means that knowledge of young people is something like modern era knowledge. Younger minds have advantage over older ones.

Secondly, it is thought that brain of young person allows her to use more creativity. Young people tend to think about more abstractive things. Those 'soft minds' colligate facts clearer and faster.

On the other hand the older generation also has its right. Adults are more focused on their priorities, they are experienced by life and most of their knowledge is learned by their failures. Because of that fact that that kind of „experienced” knowledge comes with the age.

At last but not at least the older generation is responsible for youth's behavior. That responsibility obligates adults to be convinced of their rights and knowledge.

Concluding, every generation has its rights and it is really hard to tell whether any of them has its more important. On no account can we undoubtful claim if the younger generation knows best.
But whoever knows best, always truth is in between and that is why we should learn compromise.

Camping is THE ideal way of spending a holiday

Each person likes other way to spend a free time. If it's going about holiday, some of them just need to be all the time in move. But on the other hand there are people who want to rest in one, good known place, and take a deep breath in a quiet place.I think, that one of the best ways of spending a holiday is camping. All you need to have is a tent, food, friends and, of course, money.
I love camping. I do it each summer. It makes me feel free and relax. If someone wants to camping, he needs to know where to go. It would be the best if it was placed close to the lake and somewhere between the trees. You can go swim, or sail whenever you want. In cool evenings you can get warm sitting next to the campfire and baking sausages.
Camping is a perfect way to spend a holiday alone, with friends or with family. It gives you much fun, but also you can rest herding with the nature.

The younger generation knows best

People are getting older. Some of them faster, some of them slower. Hand with hand with them go our rights and opinions. When someone is getting old, he can see how different next generations are. It is because of all time changing fashion, politics, views of life. But in whole world there exists traditions, religions, and cultures which can't be changed by younger generations.
It can't be said that younger generation knows better. There might be just events of it. Younger people are more 'on time' with various news. They can approve environment much faster than older people. They can also take a cold look at politics of the government. They can bring the 'freshness' to the economy and industry development. Young brains are much more efficient.
But on the other hand there are jobs where young people can't manage by themselves. There are situations where you just need more experience, or polish, which you only can get with a passing time. Noone knows better how to educate young children than mother or father. There are things which younger people knows because older told them about it.
Each person is different. Each person has his own lifestyle, views of life, religion. There are no better and worse.
