VoD refers to 'video on demand'. Is it the future of house entertainment? Well, personally I don't think so. Firstly, there are many alternatives for having fun at home – simply video games. Nowadays they have very realistic graphics and enjoyable plot, there are also many genres of games so everyone can find something suitable. Apart from that for using VoD efficently the customer needs really good internet speed, which increases costs of this feature.
Secondly, it was always fun for me to do 'TV-channel-jumping' when I was bored. Who knows, maybe I would eventually find something interesting. For me, that's the magic of television – watching randomly chosen programme and enjoying something new. VoD's ripping that aspect of TV. If I want to watch something badly and in good quality then I'd go to cinema and pay a bit more, but big screen and sound effects are worth it.
Finally, I think that this feature was invented by some clever people for two sorts of customers. It's for the lazy ones who can't move from their comfortable seats standing before the giant monitor screen. Second kind of VoD's user is, in my opinion, a person which likes to be right-on with every premiere.
But for me, VoD's not worth it. I'd rather go to cinema, because it's simply greater experience than watching film on tiny computer screen. This feature isn't the future of entertainment.

Video on Demand (VOD) is systems which allow users to select and watch or listen to video or audio content on demand. IPTV technology is often used to bring video on demand to televisions.
Is VOD the future of entertainment?
Nothing to watch on tv? We often change the channel and do not find anything interesting. When we have vod on tv stations we can see what we want. Firstly we paid and next watch favorite film. Today the program adapt to people and not conversly. This is good because everyone can watch what we want and when we have time. But TV stations may lose audience. If no one watches the other channels why broadcast the programs?
Simultaneously we spend more time at home and we have less time for friends. We are sitting in an armchair, getting fat and losing health. If we love movies the better alternative would be going to the cinema with friends or arrange a joint watching movies with family. We can also find another hobby, for example photography.
I think the VOD can be a good choice, I often watching programs on the Internet. But we have to be careful that television is not hide our lives and watching movies does not become boring.

In my opinion services such as VOD(video-on-demand) definitely serve as home entertainment. Sitting at home we can watch the films, serials or even some sports programs to suit one’s mood in the case the weather is not good enough and we don’t feel like going out to the cinema or we have little or ,what worse, no money to spend .VOD provides us with the ability to watch some films at home in a comfortable, cozy armchair. Personally, I like watching films and I think it’s a pleasurable way to spend one’s evening. It’s definitely my cup of tea.
VOD has many adventages the main of which is the ability to watch the chosen thing at any time of the day mostly free of charge. On the other hand, on some websites (offering free films), not only are the films quite old but usually are not of the best quality as well. That prevents many viewers from using such sites.
Looking through the given online video platforms I noticed there are some limits. I mean there are some new films or episodes of the serials that are avaible to the viewer but need to be paid. It’s not so expensive and all you have to do is to send an sms to activate the brand new chosen film.
I believe Internet is going in a good direction. Furthermore, I suppose it will displace TV in the near future as the radio has been replaced by TV. It seems to be an inevitable matter and I look forward to seeing those changes.

I think that VOD could be very usefull. VOD offers you many movies and TV series, but obviously not for free. Sometimes it's very expensive. So, is it worth? Let's think. It's very convienient possibility to watch only that program which you want. You also don't have to go to the video rental, so it's certainly saving your time. If you have good sound implements and huge TV screen, VOD can replace going to cinema.
Well, that's cool, but I think that VOD's got too little positives. I'm not spending much time watching TV.I Mostely watch News, Sport and football matches. I never watch series, but there are evenings when I want to spend time next to the TV and watch some good movies. But I thing I can face it without VOD. There are many other sources of good movies, for example Digital TV.
VOD isn't necessery to me. I'd rather go to cinema with friends and watch a good movie with high pleasure.
But there is always someone who's lazy and who's got too much money. I think VOD can find support only in people like that.

I strongly believe that VoD is the future of home entertainment. An access to valuable movies, TV series, documentary films or sports coverages is a proof of a great entertainment industry’s progress.

In the first place, it should be stressed that VoD provide an unlimited access to the digital recordings. Regardless of where you are, when you have an Internet access, you can chose from a great variety of these recordings e.g. you can watch the last episode of your favourite series or the long awaited match, which you couldn’t watch night before because of some unexpected event.

Moreover, VoD provides much more convenience than normal TV. You can stop, pause, rewind and forward what you are watching in every moment. And it is no problem when you would like to take a cup of tea or coffee or you should go to the restroom in this particular moment, when is not known whether main character dies or survives.

On the other hand, so much people in Poland still have a slow Internet access which cannot provide acceptable quality of video streaming. I think that it might be an obstacle in promoting VoD in our country, till most people will have a broadband Internet.

All in all, I think that VoD is standing before a bright future. It will take some time before people will appreciate VoD, but the possibilities offered by it are superb even now.

Nowadays people are lazy so they create things like VOD (video on demand) to make their life easy. VOD is some kind of cheap substitute of cinema. Video on demand can be a future of entertainment.
Firstly, VOD should be improved, because now there isn’t all new films and TV serials. I think that someday VOD have it all but now I’m disappointed about offer.
Secondly these days people are busy and they work a lot so they choose VOD.
Often people don’t have time to go to the cinema so they use video on demand because it doesn’t take to much time. For example if I’m busy and I can’t watch my favourite serial I can watch it for example on ipla in another time.
Next VOD have one big advantage – it’s free. When I want to watch film at cinema and I don’t have money for a ticket, I can watch this film thanks to video on demand without any money.
In conclusion I think that VOD can be future of home entertainment but it should be improved. Examples which I quote are the best proofs that I’m right. I hope that VOD won’t be use very day because everyone should visit cinema from time to time.

Is VOD the future of entertainment?
Opinions are divided. Some people say that it is the best way of spending time and it’s great that they don’t have to go out to watch whatever they want. Others think that it won’t work at all. People would rather go to the cinema, go out with friends or simply spend theirs spare time more healthy e.g. jogging or just having a walk.
I reckon that both of these groups are right, to certain degree. It is wonderful that I have possibility to watch every kind of TV program at any time and even see films before the premiere. Charges are not too high so it is another perk. I can watch films which aren’t shown on a telly. I can also pause, fast forward, fast rewind, slow forward, slow rewind, jump to previous/future frame etc. On the other hand I like going to the cinema and watching new films on a large screen and with great sound effects. It’s much more fun to go out with friends, than spending lonely night on the front of computer screen. Another drawback is that for VOD is required quite fast Internet access, unless you will have unwanted pauses.
To sum up, I don’t think that Video on Demand is the future of entertainment, but it will be used as television. People will watch it when they will be bored or they couldn’t go out because of for instance rain.

Video-on-Demand future of entertainment?
VoD is a method of showcasing streaming videos. Streaming videos are viewed as they are being delivered, similarly to television.
With VoD the video is derived from a main server or network and viewed on a television or computer screen.
Is VoD the future of home entertainment?
I don't think so. Firstly disadvantage is price.
If you want have a VOD you must have a decoder so if you don't have you must take to lease. What's more one film cost about 7-10 zł. I think that VOD is too experiance. Maybe in Belgium or Luxemburg it isn't big large expenditure, and VOD will be very popular in these country, but many Poles earn too little so they won't decide to use to VOD. Teenagers prefer illegaly downland movies or games and they don't want pay for the same movie. Secondary I think that a lots of people choose cinema. You can go to cinema and watch film in the big screen almost for the same money. According to me it is more interesting, when you go to cinema with friends instead of sit at home and watch VOD.
In Poland, such service will be primarily chosen by the people by people who love technology news, and they watch out of curiosity they want to be on pace. I think that in the future is these people will be users of VOD.
In my opinion Video-on -Demain will not be very popular and widespread in Poland.

Nowadays people are getting lazier. That’s why they buy online more often and home entertainment is getting more popular. This kind of entertainment might be VOD which is borrowing video online. I think it’s the future of home entertainment.
It’s a great option, both for people living in small and big cities. Those living in small cities might not have an access to a video shop where the newest films would be available and those from big cities might not want to go far to borrow a film.
Using VOD people can watch films, concerts, sitcoms, documentary, travel and fashion programs it’s like watching TV, but you’re able to watch things that haven’t been broadcasted yet.
Furthermore, VOD is also cheaper than an usual video shop, which means that yes, you have to pay for some videos, VOD is also business.
However, there are commercials before watching a video and on main webs.
What is more, because of available new part of sitcoms you may get addicted just like you may get addicted to the TV.
Furthermore, if you use VOD you don’t have a contact with a shop assistant and there are usually nice people who are also able to give you more information. You may also forgot the feeling when you wait for a film to be released on DVD and the happiness when you finally watched it.
All in all, I think VOD is so comfortable that it is the future of home entertainment. We can also get videos much faster.

I have to complain a little about VOD as it’s started to drown in the commercial ocean. It still offers less commercials than TV but what the hell questionnaire about Intel’s processors is doing on Iplex site?! I have 15 seconds to answer and that depends whether I will be able to watch a movie or not, that’s ridiculous. And of course annoying. Some months ago Iplex looked much more promising than now, however comparing to the other sites it’s still free. And that’s what make difference to polish people- prices. I believe visiting cinemas is a far better way to spend money. At least installing plug-ins is not required there and you don’t have to be worried about your internet speed…
Besides we have P2P. I don’t think that someone is worried about (il)legality when the law is not executed here. You get whatever you want, whenever you need. That’s the source of entertainment- movies, games, music, e-books… On the other hand we’ve got VOD which, paradoxically, isn’t on demand- that’s because you won’t get here novelties so quick and for the rest you will be forced to sacrifice 10 minutes of your life on downloading plug-ins or sending text messages from your mobile to get access. I’d rather sleep in front of my TV or go outside to play football – that’s timeless amusements!

Video-On-Demand - future of entertainment?
Video on Demand is a service that allows you to watch movies or listening to music on the chosen time.
Firstly I think that VOD is a good solution for people who work a lot. They can watch whatever they want at any time: movies, series, programs. Watching on VOD is faster than for example going to the cinema. But if we have time it’s better to go to the cinema or a concert. We can meet friends and spend time with them so we don’t neglect them.
Secondly that service is for lazy people who don’t want or don’t like to go out. Is very convenient for them because they prefer to sit at home and watch the screen. Unfortunately it’s not good for their health.
Thirdly VOD is quite expensive. Not everyone can afford it in order to buy a package.
Summing up I don’t think that this service has become the future of entertainment at least in our country. It could be useful for more people but it should be improved for example it should be cheaper.

According to Wikipedia VoD is the system which allows people to commune with media and entertainment. It is very convenient way for people in 21st century to enjoy movies and albums without wasting time and waiting to see the movie in cinema or on their own TV set.
Firstly, to be honest, I have never used VoD before and the way it works does not really excite me. I think that my problem of misunderstanding of VoD is about my habits. I always waited in a real excitement when the date of airing the new episode of my favourite TV series was late and because of it I missed one. I think that is a kind of television magic. VoD can be a great opportunity for those who are really disappointed and sad when they miss something on TV.
Secondly when you are in a music store, or simply you are changing channels on your TV set, there is always something which make your eyes hipnotized and the best about this is that it is often unexpected.
Eventually, I think that VoD is a future of entertainment, but for younger generations, for example the generation of my lazy younger brother who instead of going out with people, talk with them via messengers or community web pages
VoD is the next thing invented for digital era but progress of civilisation is faster and faster, maybe It will not have been TV sets in our houses by 20 years because of VoD development. VoD is probably next step of this rapid development of technology and a way of future entertainment

PS It's fun that the name VoD refers also to music
