The council of your nearest big town or city wants to improve urban transport. There is only enough money for one of these ideas. In groups, discuss which ones you would choose.

1. Let's start from the first point: "Pedestranise more streets in the centre.". Of course that's a good idea.
But it will make it easier only for pedestrian. Not for bikers or people who ride a electric scooter.

2. Next point is “Develop a free public bike-hire system and build more bike lanes”.
It will make it easier transport in Lodz city a lot. And this is environment friendly.
If it will be realized, it will help a lot.

3." Offer free public transport". That is a highly awesome idea. It will be very useful, if it will concerns a trams.
Why? Because in Lodz the tram network is well-developed ang it will be environment friendly. This point is certainly my favourite idea.

4." Start a park and ride scheme". This is interesting. On the contrary I think this will not work on a scale of Lodz.

In my opinion the most required thing to do and which our nearest city needed is to offer a free public transport. Łódź has already had lot of pedestrianizing streets, so I think pedestrianizing more of it in the center is cool idea, because it helps conservation security in the city. But it’s not the most important thing to do now. Also, more bike lines are a good conception, but I cast the number of bikes that Łódź have is enough. Starting a park and ride scheme maybe is a good idea, but in my opinion it’s more effective when most people commute to work from far and in fact a lot of people commute to Łódź city, but most of them live in it. Free public transport is a great conception because everyone could use it without any excuse. A ticket for a bus isn’t expensive but I know if it was free, people would ride it happily. Using public transport like bikes or buses is very good for our planet, too. In addition, more people would choose ride by bus instead by taxi. When we have limited pollution our air condition will be better, and we will avoid smog, which is very important. I think all of notions will be successful and cool but using public transport most of all cabins toxic air.

PEDESTRIANISE MORE STREETS IN THE CENTRE

When it comes to a city like Łódź, I think pedestrianizing more streets is a good idea. It would help pedestrians and cyclists feel more comfortable, since normal streets in the town center are remarkably busy. I like this project, but in this case, it is not the one I would spend the money for.

DEVELOP A FREE PUBLIC BIKE-HIRE SYSTEM AND BUILD MORE BIKE LANES.

In my opinion developing a free public bike-hire system is a great idea, but only in theory. In reality the situation is not looking well. The public bikes are pretty bad quality and making them free is not going to change anything. Regarding the bike lanes, I definitely support this proposition. I think cyclists are going to feel way more safer riding on a bike lane than on a street. I like this project too, but it also is not the one I would choose.

OFFER FREE PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Offering free public transport is the project I would go for. Making the transport free is going to decrease the congestion, make transportation more accessible for poor and low waged people and help the environment by reducing the pollution from cars. I believe this is a clever project that addresses the problems of both free public bike-hire system and park and ride scheme.

START A PARK AND RIDE SCHEME (BIG CAR PARKS OUTSIDE A CITY WITH SHUTTLE BUSES TO BRING PEOPLE INTO THE CENTRE).

Big cities are a place of work for not only people that live in them, but also ones that commute. Most commuting people get to their workplaces by car and are not very eager to leave them outside the city and then pay for public transportation. I suppose that making the public transport free is going to make the park and ride scheme more efficient. That is why I would make the free public transport project a priority and then create a park and ride scheme.

- Pedestranise more streets in the centre.
In my opinion this project would be a safe space for pedastrians. There would be more space for walking or meeting friends and there would be more greenery. However this project would be a handicap for cars.

- Develop a free public bike-hire system and build more buke lanes
New bike lanes could encourage city residents to use bicycles instead of cars. It could iprove the air condition in the city. A free public bike- hire system is a good option because if you need to use the bike quickly, you can hire it and go.

- Offer free public transport
I think this project would be the best because for example in the city of Łódź better option is choose the public transport because it is less likely to be in a traffic jam. There are traffic jams in cities every day.

- Start a park and ride scheme
Maybe there is one of the coolest ideas. This would make traveling much easier.

In my opinion each of these projects is good and prevents some degree of air pollution, but my favourite is a free public transport because it would be easier movement fot the most.

-Pedestranise more streets in the centre.
It is a good idea in a city like Łódź. This, as well as many other big cities, has a lot of traffic, so this idea could work well for pedestrians who want to take a walk.

-Develop a free public bikes-hire system and build more bike lanes.
This is a good idea. There should be many bicycle paths in large cities, and in addition, the free public bikes-hire system encouraged people who do not have bicycles to travel and exercise healthily.

-Offer free public transport.
It is a very good idea that could work well in a city like Łódź. Thanks to such free transport, it would be much easier to travel.

-Start a park and ride scheme (big car parks outside a city with shuttle buses to bring people into the centre).
It is a very good idea, thanks to which the traffic in such a large city could decrease.

In my opinion, the best idea is "Offer free public transport", because free transport has made traveling much more efficient and works best in Łódź.

1. Pedestranise more streets in the Centre.
I think it’s a good idea to pedestranise more street in Łódź, because it would create a great place for people to go for a walk and admire the city. This would also make people feel more comfortable and safer.
2. Develop a free public bike-hire system and build more bike lines.
In my opinion free public bike-hire system would make bikes available for everyone, not just for people that can afford them. Also building more bike lanes could encourage people to cycle more and make them feel safe. After those improvements people might use bikes more often, then cars, which can help in reducing smog.
3. Offer free public transport
I agree with this point, because I think that free public transport would be very useful for people that use it a lot and in conclusion spent a lot of money on it. It would also tempt people into using public transport and stop producing more exhaust fumes.
4. Start a park and ride scheme (big car parks outside a city with shuttle buses to bring people into the centre).
In my opinion, this seems like a very helpful and easy way to get to the centre, especially for those who live at the suborns and work in the city, but I don’t think people would be really into it.
I would personally choose the first idea for Łódź, because I think that this would let people appreciate this city more. It may also encourage them to be more active and move more, which might lead to reducing smog a little bit

1. I think pedestrianise streets are being built in towns where there are a lot of tourists. These allow people to walk around the city calmly.
2. Next idea is about a free public bike-hire system. It seems to me that not many people use these bikes. I think most people don’t use this, because they have complicated mechanics or just don’t want to use them and they don’t look good.
3.”Offer free public transport”, It sounds nice and I think I would choose this idea. I’m not sure how it would work, but most people would use this, for example people who work in Łódź or students who study in this town.
4. It sounds interesting. This idea could make traveling easier for people who are working or studying in Łódź, but don’t live there.

If I had to choose I would choose free public transport, because it’s useful and if a lot of people would choose this type of traveling rather than car it could be helpful for the environment. Also this could be helpful for people who don’t have a lot of money, and obviously for people who are just using public transport.

PEDESTRIANISE MORE STREETS IN THE CENTRE.
In my opinion this is not a good idea. If the streets in the centre will be closed, the time to the destination will be longer for vehicular traffic. Also access to the destination will be constricted.

DEVELOP A FREE PUBLIC BIKE-HIRE SYSTEM AND BUILD MORE BIKE LANES.
I think this is a good idea, but not the best. Of course, the air pollution will be less, but a free public bike-hire system is not a good idea. People don’t respect somebody's property and it doesn’t always work like it should.

OFFER FREE PUBLIC TRANSPORT.
I think this is not the best idea. This is a good idea in small towns, but not in the cities like Łódź. I think public transport will be congested. Buses are not always on time. We are subordinate to the timetable.

START A PARK AND RIDE SCHEME (BIG CAR PARK OUTSIDE A CITY WITH SHUTTLE BUSES TO BRING PEOPLE INTO THE CENTRE).
In my opinion this is the best idea. Vehicular traffic in the centre will be less. Most people commute from outside a city and it will be a comfortable solution for them. I think the air will be less polluted.

I think all of these ideas are very good and helpful. All of these have good and bad ways. I chose the fourth idea, because I think this is the best for Łódź. The congestion will be less. A lot of people live outside a city. I think it will help people and reduce pollution and smog.

The council of your nearest big town or city wants to improve urban transport. There is only enough money for one of these ideas.

-Pedestranise more streets in the centre.
I think it's a very good idea because in city like Zduńska Wola there is a lot of old and holey/broken sidewalks. Pedestranise more streets will be safer and better and generally people will be satisfied. And If works will be smartly thoughtful, our movement will be faster and more comfortably.
-Develop a free public bike-hire system and build more bike lanes.
I already have a free bike-hire but "free" is only for first 20 minute of route If I remember.
It's good idea, especially If you need to go fast to somewhere. And of course, the owners of the bike-hire need to service regularly these bikes.
-Offer free public transport.
I think it's the best idea. My city isn't very big so the buses could go further than just in the city. It would be very comfortably and if buses will be electric or hybrid - good for environment. I think it's need to be done as soon as possible.
-Start a park and ride scheme (big car parks outside a city with shuttle buses to bring people into the centre).
In my opinion It would took too much time for transfer from car to bus and then go to work for example. And totally unprofitable because you will need to pay for fuel to your car and bus (If they will not be free).

In my opinion all of the solutions for implementing eco transport are good for the city. Thanks to them cities are more healthy. But if I have to choose one of them I have to think for a moment.
Firstly, I believe that the idea of developing a free bike-hire system is going to be bad, because people are going to destroy those bikes, not all of people is going to = use them. However, the idea of building more bike lanes is actually not bad.
Secondly, pedestrianising streets in the centre. It is not a bad idea but in my opinion because of that there could be more car traffic jams in the city.
Thirdly, the free public transport, and by this I mean buses, is not a good idea because the buses produce harmful substances in their exhaust fumes. If the public transport is going to be powered by a renewable source of energy, I’m all for it.
Fourthly, the electric cars. For me the electric cars are the best idea because people are going to have more privacy in their cars and they can use this whenever they want. If we still want to still use cars with internal combustion engines we can build big car parks outside the city with shuttle buses into the center. With this system we can avoid car traffic jams. But this only has sense when the buses are going to be powered with renewable sources of energy.
To sum it all up, in my opinion the best way to rescue our planet is to use electric cars and buses in cities.

1. „Pedestranise more streets in the centre.”
I think it’s a good idea, because people could feel more safety and comfortable in the environment but I think we have enough pavements in the big cities like Warsaw so it’s not a good idea to spend money for it.

2. "Develop a free public bike-hire system and build more bike lanes."
In my opinion public bike-hire system it’s not the best idea, because these publick bikes are always dirty, broken or uncomfortable and it’s annoying. Even so this plan could support a healthy lifestyle and it’s one of the most easy and fast form of transport which is safe (only if you ride with a helmet on your head). After all, I don’t choose this project.

3."Offer free public transport."
I believe that it’s the best idea of all of these. It’ll help people move around and save their money. Also they won’t have to worry about buying tickets and this encourage people to use public transport such as trains, subways or buses. Maybe that's why people will prefer to travel this way because it'll free. I believe some of them will also give up driving by car, which will be good for the environment.

4. “Start a park and ride scheme”
It sounds like perfect way of transport for people from smaller towns and I think it’s a good idea but the reality is different. Unfortunately I think people are used to commuting by trains, especially to big cities and it is definitely a faster way, so if one effective form of communication already exists, there is no need to create another one.

if i have to chose one of these ideas i would take an offer of free public transport. it’s really great think. i know a lot of people who would like to use more of public transport like buses, trams, trains but they think it’s too expensive as their salaries are concerned. bus ticket it’s not very expensive but if you buy this everyday it’s lots of money. I’m sure that more of our local inhabitants would chose a public transport even i would like to use it.
Pedestrianise more streets in centre, it’s a good idea too, but it’s definitely a slower way to get something done and not everyone can do this. It’s helpful way but in my opinion not the most important thing.
Free bikes and more bike lines sound good. a lot of people would use this but i’m afraid that some men will stole a few elements and bikes would not be complete and not able to ride.
i actually don’t think that building a huge car park is the best idea. shuttle buses are slower than normal cars and they also have to stop on each bus stop. i don’t know what can i say about it, i’m just not convinced to this.

1. I think that pedestrianizing more streets in the centre would be a good idea not only for the nature but also for people. Cars produce big amounts of pollution, which is harmful for the planet and also very dangerous for humans. There is only one problem. During pandemic it would be easier to catch the virus.
2. First of all public bikes aren’t as good as normal bikes. They are more likely to break and are a lot heavier than normal ones. When it comes to bike lanes, that’s a perfect idea for people who don’t really like cars and effects that they lead to and who prefer walking on open air but also don’t like the speed of walking.
3. In my opinion this idea is the best. Why? Because who wouldn’t want to move around in free public transport! With this more people would most likely use it more often than their own cars. They wouldn’t need to spend so much money on petrol and thanks to that the air would be a lot cleaner.
4. For me that idea is both good and stupid at the same time. Of course the pollution would be reduced, but it still doesn’t sound too great for me. Imagine that you have to leave your car at parking outside a city and get out of the car, just to get into another vehicle. In my opinion people wouldn’t be too happy about it either.
